The senior division consists of players ages
15 – 16. This is a competitive division that keeps score,
division standings, a double elimination post season
tournament and an All-Star team. This is a player pitch
division. In the senior division ALL players must go
through a Mandatory Player Evaluation process, except for
the coach’s daughter and one assistant coach’s daughter. A
draft process is used by the coaches in this division. All
girls will be placed on a team.
Little
League Incorporated will be implementing a “No Player
Property Rights” in every division. This means every girl
re-enter the draft every year and no team stays together
year to year. Gilbert softball Little League is implementing
this same policy, No Player Property Rights. A player can
not request a certain coach. This is a draft process only so
no request of any kind can be honored. The only players that
do not have to go through the Mandatory Player Evaluation is
the coach’s daughter and one assistant coach’s
daughter. The assistant coach must be designated before the
Player Evaluation.
The Senior Division does have a later
start date than the Minor and Major Divisions. The Player
Evaluation and draft process usually begins in late March
and the season goes through mid June. The season does start
later because of high school players that do play in this
league. The high school players can not play, according to
high school rules, until their high school season is
completely finished. The All-Star team will begin the middle
of June. GSLL will notify each player, by e-mail, a date,
time and place for Player Evaluations.
All
divisions will play by Little League Incorporated rules and
guidelines with only a few exceptions.
The GSLL “Calendar” will be updated as
dates are selected.
